Camden looking cute in his Christmas jammies!
(Somehow he always manages to get at least one foot out!)
Of course we had to have one last snow storm before leaving!
It's official, we have moved to Texas! We spent a great almost 2 years in Northern Virginia. We were able to do so many things while we lived there and it was fun to be on our own for awhile, but we are so ready to live by family and enjoy time with them. My parents flew in on Saturday, Dec. 14th, to help us drive our cars. We sent most everything on a truck so that we didn't have to worry about hitching a u-haul on the back of Eric's car. It worked out great! The night my parents came to town we went to see the Christmas lights at the DC temple. It was cold and rainy, so we mostly stayed in the Visitors Center. The lights were beautiful as always, and it was fun to see all of the nativities that were set up. We were going to go to DC for one last time as well to see the National Christmas tree, but the rain kept us away.
We left the next morning to start our 3 day journey to San Antonio. We had planned to stop twice, once in Atlanta, and the next in New Orleans. Eric had a friend that we stayed with in Atlanta, they were so nice to let us stay with them. We had planned thought that it would be fun to stay in New Orleans the next night, but after learning that it would be out of the way and we really didn't know what we would do there, we decided to just take the shorter route and get to Texas sooner. We stayed at a hotel just outside of Lafayette, Louisiana. It was the better decision to make, because we were able to get to San Antonio much sooner in the day!
We saw lots and lots of trees, rivers, swamps and two beautiful sunsets from the car along our way. Our drive was pretty much uneventful, except for a couple of pretty high bridges that my mom didn't enjoy going over! I am grateful that we had no problems along the way. I did manage to lose my phone about 3 times along the way, but each time it was just in the car! I've gone a little brain dead after having Camden. Camden did amazing on the trip. He would sleep, and sleep and sleep some more! We would stop when he needed to eat. His worst part was the last hour of driving, he was done being in the car and just cried! Thankfully it was just the last hour. So we are now in Texas and happy to be here! We are looking forward to all of the adventures that we are going to have, and the memories that we will make!
