Our sweet baby girl is here! I was scheduled to be induced on Thursday, June 4th. We planned to have Camden stay the night at Jackie and Christian's house, so we had dinner there and then bathed him, set up the pack n play for him, and tried to put him to bed, but he freaked out! He actually freaked out the whole time that we bathed him and to put him to bed. I didn't think it would be as bad as it was, but he could definitely sense that something was happening. He even climbed out of the pack n play, opened the bedroom door and came out, all while screaming and crying. It took awhile for him to calm down, but eventually he fell asleep. He had a rough day the next day as well, but still had fun playing with his cousins.
After we left Camden, we went home and went to bed because I had to call the hospital at 5am to make sure that they still had room for me to come in. They did have room, so we had to be to the hospital by 6am. It was an early start to the day and when we got there, I had to fill out some paperwork and then we had to wait about 50 mins before we were taken to the labor and delivery room. Once we got in, I had to get the antibiotic for strep b, because I had tested positive for it, and they wanted to make sure I had a couple of doses before she was born. They also started the pitocin. I was already at a 4 when I got to the hospital, so I knew that it was going to be faster than with Camden. Everything went really well and as a whole it was a much better experience than with Camden. My Dr. broke my water at about 10:30am and a half hour later I asked for the epidural. I knew that I was already going to get one, so I got it as soon as I started feeling more painful contractions. I waited too long to get one with Camden and ended up feeling a lot more than I wanted to, so this time I took no chances. The epidural worked really well, I couldn't feel my legs or feet at all, and it was hard to just move them. Unfortunately it took awhile for it to go away as well, especially on my right side. But I am grateful that I got it, because I felt no pains as Sienna came out. I was at a 10 at about 3pm so the nurse had me start pushing. I pushed for about a half hour and then she was here! When she came out, I was surprised at how small she was. I thought for sure she was going to be bigger! It is always such a surreal moment when they hand your baby to you for the first time. I'm so grateful that she was healthy and perfect!
Jackie and Brittney brought Camden to the hospital later that night, but he didn't want anything to do with me or the baby. He was still upset that we had left him and only wanted to be with Eric. Unfortunately the nurses took so long doing all the stuff in the nursery that Jackie and Brittney didn't even get to hold Sienna. They brought her back to me about 10 mins after they had to leave. We had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights, which I was not happy about. I only wanted to stay one night, but Sienna's bilirubin was too high and had to stay. We got to leave Saturday morning about 11am. It is always so nice to come home and just be in the comfort of your own home. Plus, a couple of hours after we got home my mom arrived!
We love our little Sienna and are so happy that she is here and a part of our family! We feel very blessed and are happy to be a family of four!
