Everly 18 Months

18 Month Stats:

Weight:  21.2 lbs (30%)
Height:  31.25"  (30%)
Head:  18.25"  (60%)

This girl is a feisty and stubborn one!  She is sweet, but really is her own person and only does things when she wants to.  She is starting to become more independent and that leads to more naughtiness!  She hated the Dr. and the nurses at our appointment.  She didn't want them to touch her at all.  She would try to push their hands away.  She really just doesn't like a lot of people, outside of me, Eric, and the kids.  She is beginning to warm up to Grandma Teachout, but that's about it.  She has perfected the mean scowl face and isn't afraid to use it either!  When she gets mad, she will drop to the floor, roll around, and pout.
She has gone to nursery a few times, but cried if Eric left her.  She did like snack time, and sitting at their little table.  When we got home the first week of her going to nursery, she pointed to the table at lunch time and thought she could sit there like a big kid!  Haha! Silly girl, she is definitely not big enough for that yet.  She figured out how to go up the stairs just before turing 18 months.  I'm sure she could have done it sooner, but she chose not to.  She can go down herself as well, but doesn't know how to turn and get on her belly to come down.  So if she makes her way upstairs, she will then cry and yell for someone to come get her.  We need to work on going down!
She still loves stealing books and toys from her brother and sister, and then screaming if they try to get it back.  She thinks everything should be hers, and will take it all whenever she gets a chance!  She loves Minnie and Mickey!  Every time we go to the store, she will just squeal when she sees them or baby dolls.  Then she has to hold them while we walk the store.  She isn't really into shows yet, but will get excited if she sees Mickey, Minnie, Peppa Pig, or Bubble Guppies.  She has to sleep with about 3-4 different babies in her bed, even though she already has different stuffed animals in there.  She still loves her blankets, has to sleep with them, and take them everywhere.
She is not really talking.  She can say Momma, Dadda, baby, this, and over.  I can't really distinguish anything else.  She does walk around jabbering all day, but she won't repeat a word if you ask her to say it.  I don't think she will speak as quickly as Sienna, but who knows, this girl just does things when she wants!  She definitely understands everything we tell her!
She loves to eat the fruit and veggie, yogurt, and oatmeal packets.  If you ask her if she ready to eat, she will run into the pantry and whine until you get her one!  She is still somewhat picky, but I can usually get to her eat what we are having.  She know where her nose is, and that's about it.  I keep trying to teach her other parts, but she just ignores me.  Haha.  She'll get it, eventually!  She loves shower time, but doesn't actually really love being in the shower.  She's never really liked it, it got better for a little while, but now she's back to crying about going under the water.  She loves the routine of it though, and knows to go get her pajamas and diaper and that we brush her teeth after.
She's really good about playing with toys.  She will make a really big mess, because she gets everything out, but she will entertain herself, so it's nice!  She's one of the only babies/toddlers that I know that likes and plays with toys!  She likes to look at books, but won't sit long enough to have it read to her.  She loves getting out our big comfy blankets and laying all over them.  She's quite the little character, and we are so happy that she is in our family!  Love you Everly girl!
