This past weekend we decided to see something local. Great Falls National Park is about 10 minutes away, and basically it is where the Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge. There are three different look outs that really don't show that much of a difference. There are hikes that you can go on, but we just walked through the park. It is pretty there, but the falls weren't that impressive. I knew it wasn't going to be spectacular, but it was nice to be outside on a nice day! We are trying to see as many things and places as possible while we are here, and now we have checked off one more thing. Next on the list....New York City!!
