The view from the top of the hotel, by the pool.
We spent a couple of days in Houston in October. Eric had a training there, so we tagged along since the hotel was free! We left monday night and spent tues and wed there. Mostly it was just Camden and I hanging out all day, since Eric was training. It ended up being a pretty rough trip. The first night Camden didn't sleep well, so the next day was not too fun. I did go up to the pool with him, but the water was so cold it wasn't worth it to get in. He didn't mind though, we had the area to ourselves and he just roamed around looking at everything. The weather was perfect, sunny and 80's. When Eric got out we decided to go to dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant and Camden was horrible. He wouldn't eat anything, threw everything on the ground, and just didn't make it very fun. That night I stuck him in the bathroom to sleep, so we wouldn't be in the same room, and he did much better. The next day we hung out at the hotel until check out time, and then went to a nearby park, Discovery Green. It was nice to walk around, but it wasn't too exciting and there wasn't that much to do. So once Eric got out of training we were ready to leave! We went to the Galleria mall and walked around, then decided to get dinner before heading home. Even after our disastrous night at a restaurant the night before, we decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory. Well, it didn't go better. Camden was worse, didn't want to sit in the high chair, threw his food on the ground again, cried and then Eric just stuck him in the booth with us. He only wanted to play with the knives and forks, which we let him, because it was better than hearing him cry. Great parenting, I know! At that point I was just done, and ready to go home! It was nice to get away, but Camden didn't enjoy being out of his routine and I didn't either! We are heading to Michigan for Halloween, so hopefully that trip goes better!
