Camden 8th Birthday, G&G Clark visit, and Baptism

Camden Stats:

Height:  51.25" (60%)
Weight:  56.6 lbs (50%)

Happy 8th Birthday to Camden!  I can't believe that he is this old!  His birthday was on a Monday, so he had to go to school, but we paid for everyone in his class to get ice cream in the cafeteria and he loved that.  He also had a baseball game that night, so we brought cupcakes for the team and they all sang him Happy Birthday!  He didn't love the attention, but it was so cute!  We also went to Main Event the Saturday before his birthday with cousins to celebrate.  He got to play arcade games and laser tag and we had Torchy's after for dinner!  His cousin, Drake, was also nice enough to give him all his tickets that he won from the arcade so that Camden could get a bigger prize!  He ended up with a stuffed animal, Pickach! I wish I would have gotten a picture of them with it, but I forgot!  He had a lot of fun that day, to make up for having to go to school on his birthday! Haha!  He even woke up early to make sure that he could open his presents before school.  He got video games, colored pencils, markers, books, a star wars puzzle, and a spiderman lego!
A few days after his birthday, Grandma and Grandpa came in to town for his baptism!  We are so happy that they were able to come, and crazy enough, it was the first time we had seen them in person in almost 2 years because of covid!  They got to go to a baseball game and watch Camden play, we went to Fun Friday at the school and had lunch with the kids, they watched the girls play in their soccer games, and we walked around Main Street Boerne a little.  We also were able to show them the progress on our new house.  It was just fun to have them here and we are so glad they came!  Of course, they were able to go to the baptism as well.
We did Camden's baptism on a Friday night, because with all of the sports and things going on with all the family that lives here, it was just the best option!  It was a great baptism, and we are grateful for those that got on the zoom and watched as well.  Funny thing about Camden, when the bishop asked him why he wanted to be baptized, he told him that he didn't want to!  Haha!  I think he was just nervous and didn't know what to expect.  Another funny thing at his baptism is that he had to be baptized three times.  Ha!  Eric didn't say it correctly the first time, and then the second time Camden's toe came up!  He didn't really love having to go under three times, but he was a good sport about it.  Eric confirmed him after and Camden was able to have both of his Grandpas give the talks.  After the baptism we went back to our house with everyone for Pizza and cake and celebrated Camden a little bit more.  I'm grateful that he made the choice to follow Christ and become a member of the church!
Camden loves playing sports, and is very competitive.  His favorites are basketball, baseball, and soccer.  He loves playing video games, but with all the activities that we have him in, he doesn't get to spend a lot of time on it.  He loves swimming, riding his bike, torturing his sisters, and being silly!  He won't admit it, but he loves school and really thrives there.  His teacher this year absolutely loves him and tells me how much he helps her.  He does well in school, he just tries to rush through his work sometimes, so he is constantly being told to slow down!  We are so proud of all he has learned so far though and have loved watching him learn and grow.  He is stubborn and thinks he is always right, he loves to tell me when I am wrong, but he likes to follow the rules and for the most part makes good choices.  We love Camden so much and are so grateful that he is in our family!  Happy Birthday, buddy!!
