Eric and I were able to go to Cabo the last week of October for a Partner Retreat. It wasn't the ideal time to go in terms of all the things going on with the kids, but it all worked out. We left on Sunday, the same day that my parents left Texas. So we went to the airport at the same time, but had to part ways before security because we were in different gates. But we had good flights, we had a really quick stop in Dallas and then flew to Cabo. We got there in the afternoon, so that night Eric's work had a dinner on the beach with everyone. It was really nice, and the waves were so loud and big it sounded like a thunderstorm! The resort that we stayed at was all inclusive and adults only. So it was really quiet and chill. Eric was in meetings most of the time, so it wasn't like we got to spend tons of time together. They did an activity for all of the spouses one of the days. Well, they had options of things you could do, there was horseback riding, ATV's, or deep sea fishing. I chose to do the ATVs and it was fun. We had the same options the next day to do with our spouses and Eric wanted to do the ATVs, so I got to do it twice! But it was a different course, so it wasn't all the same. It was cool because we got to drive right by the ocean, and it was amazing how cold the spray was from the water, even though it was so hot outside! You aren't allowed to go in the water where we were though. Not even at our hotel. The waves get too big and so they don't allow it on side that we were. I had a lot of down time to just hang out by the pool and do whatever, which was nice, but wish Eric and I could have had more time together. I did go with one of the other wives to the other resort that was next door that was still part of our resort, and we were able to hang out by the pools and have lunch there. It was a family friendly resort and it was huge. You had to take golf carts to get to the different areas. They had like 5 or so different pools, one at the very top that had amazing views! But it was a totally different vibe, a lot more lively, and obviously kids were there. They were both really nice. The treats in the pictures above were at the other resort, they had more restaurants and things to go to. It was fun to be able to check it out. We had dinner every night at one of the restaurants at our resort, and our last night we had it at the other resort. It was beautiful weather the whole time that we were there, and I'm glad that I was able to go, but by the end of the week I was ready to come home! Eric ended up getting sick from the water there the last day we were there, but it only lasted like 24 hours. I got the same thing the day after we got home. We both used the water from the tap when we brushed our teeth, and we think that caused it. Now we will remember if we ever go back! All in all it was a good trip, it was just long when you aren't spending a lot of the time together. But the water was beautiful and I'm glad that we were able to go!
